In celebration of the film’s home entertainment release, we wanted to share five things that you may not know about SING 2:
- In SING 2 Bono, U2’s lead singer, plays the role of reclusive star Clay Calloway, but did you know he made his acting debut in another musical film? In 2007, Bono played Dr. Robert in Across the Universe, which was inspired by The Beatles. His character name, Clay Calloway, is also an homage to another great singer, Cab Calloway.
- The masks used by gang leader Big Daddy (Peter Serafinowicz) and his cronies to disguise themselves is actually Snowball’s face. Snowball is, of course, the cute fluffy bunny in Secret Life of Pets!
- When Rosita, portrayed by Reese Witherspoon jumps off the platform towards the end of the film, she lands the same way her co-star Scarlett Johansson lands in Black Widow.
- SING 2 is Bono, Letitia Wright, y Chelsea Peretti’s first animated feature.
- The film stars two Oscar winners (Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon) and three Oscar nominees (Scarlett Johansson, Bono, and Pharrell Williams).
