BAFTA AWARD WINNING THRILLER 
“SUMMER SCARS” GETS AMAZON RELEASE 
IN NORTH AMERICA, UK AND AUSTRALIA.

Jinga Films is pleased to announce the US, Canada, UK, Ireland and Australia release of Julian Richards acclaimed abduction thriller SUMMER SCARS on September 19th 2022. Kevin Howarth (The Last Horror Movie) stars as an ex-army drifter who befriends a group of teens in the woods. First he gains their trust by joining their games but then he begins to change, bullying the alpha boys, belittling the weaker ones and saving his worst for the only girl in the group. Ciaran Joyce (Young Dracula) and Darren Evans (Dreamhorse) also star.

SUMMER SCARS received its World premiere at London International Film Festival where it won Best Director and it’s US premiere at Austin Fantastic Fest where it won Best Actor.Winner of a BAFTA Cymru award for Best Newcomer SUMMER SCARS was theatrically released in the UK by the Institute of Contemporary Arts as part of a New British Cinema strand designed to showcase fresh and entertaining voices in UK cinema.

Julian Richards earlier films DARKLANDS and THE LAST HORROR MOVIE paved the way for the revival of UK horror films in the 21st century. He has since directed three US genre films including SHIVER starring Danielle Harris and John Jarrett, REBORN starring Barbara Crampton and Michael Pare and DADDY’S GIRL starring Costas Mandylor and Jemma Dallendar.
