
SÃO PAULO – October 17, 2022 – Prime Video released today the official trailer for El Presidente: The Game of Corruption, the new season of the Amazon Original series El Presidente. The production stars the Portuguese actor Albano Jerónimo, in addition to the Brazilians Eduardo Moscovis and Maria Fernanda Cândido, and also features the return of Colombian actor, Andrés Parra. The production is by Gaumont and the creative direction is by Oscar Winner Armando Bó.
The production El Presidente: The Game of Corruption is a satirical look at the backstage of corruption inside the soccer world, and shows the origins of FIFA’s transformation from a simple sports organization into a commercial and political power. At the center of the story is former FIFA president João Havelange, the unlikely Brazilian outsider who usurped power from the Europeans and maintained control of the organization for nearly three decades. With a high dose of humor and irony, the series shows everything Havelange possibly won and lost, stole and gambled, and how he supposedly turned the beautiful game into a profit machine.
The series cast also includes Anna Brewster, Carol Abras, Nelson Freitas, Polliana Aleixo, Isadora Ferrite, Leonardo Cidade, Leandro Firmino, Demétrio Nascimento Alves, Fabio Aste and Philippe Jacq. In the Portuguese dubbed version,Fábio Porchat is the voice of the narrator.
Oscar-winning screenwriter Armando Bó (About Entertainment) returns to the series as showrunner and executive producer. Jogo da Corrupção is produced by the Latin American team at Gaumont, led by Christian Gabela; with Oscar-winning production company Fabula, led by Pablo and Juan de Dios Larraín; and with Kapow, an Argentine production company led by Agustín Sacanell and Lucas Rainelli.
